The Angling Marketplace

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Sounds like a great venue.

I have bought a few things on there, never sold anything. The first auction I took part in, 2 out of the 4 items I bought had issues. Both vendors corrected the issue without delay, and with little involvement from the auction house/platform. In my experience, the Angling Marketplace (Langs?) really only acted as the middleman. I would expect the resolution of any problems to be the responsibility of the individual seller, rather than with the auction itself.

I'm a regular seller and buyer on Angling Marketplace, it's been 100% great on both sides. The format is different from most, very good for sellers and a great way to sell "smalls" and items of lesser value.

I've purchased a number of things from that site. Mostly books. Never an issue. I haven't sold anything there as yet.

I purchased a LH Spinning reel on the site. It wasn't advertised as LH and by the time I noticed it, it was to late to cancel the bid. I complained that the reel should have been advertised as LH . They felt I should have noticed it when looking at the photos. I lost but still got a scarce reel for somewhat of a deal.

Yes the fees are high. Yes it is difficult to understand in the beginning.

Hands down, my favorite of all the auctions.
Both to buy and sell.

One of the features is that buyers know precisely who is selling each lot.

Looks like their first auction was January 2019.
