Five years after American physician Jonas Salk at the University of Pittsburgh introduced a vaccine for polio, in 1960 an oral polio vaccine (the “sugar cube”), developed by virologist Albert Sabin, came into wide use.

#3Jonas Salk was a saint. He freely shared his discovery, seeking no fortune for his efforts. These kind of people have vanished.
