Any Net Makers Out There????

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Looking for support/services regarding restoration of high end 1970s trout nets, perhaps modern but respectfully accurate reproduction of earlier cotton "Funnel" shaped profiles, PM me with your contact information, Thanks!!! Todd

I recommend Cedar Nets that are finely crafted here in Canada. These nets are made with a variety of styles with fine hardwoods and they are as handsome as they are practical.

Hello Todd -
...just to clarify...
are you referring to the net frame, or net bag, or both???

Methinks he's referring to the net bag.

I have book on how to knot nets. And I have tried repeatedly to get the hang of it (couple years ago) but gave up... Now net frames are easy when compared to bags. ;-)

Yeah, sorry if I was not clear, trying to either repair the bags or replace with faithful new ones, preferrably the traditional open cotton style.

LDH nets. Look them up online. I bet Lloyd could help you. I have a number of his nets and he is fabulous to work with. Best, Chris

Another vote for LDH. Lloyd is great to work with and he is all about tradition.

I recently saw on YouTube on the Restore & Repair channel how such traps were restored there, very interesting. Therefore, I am inclined more towards the opinion scarlet> fire, as it seems I there in the comments met a mention of it
