Source for reel cases

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Thank you for all of the links. I've known about Arne Mason's cases for over 20 years and I really should eventually splurge on one for my 3" leaded St. George.

for a reel like that you might contact Olaf Kundrus (Gespliesste on this board) and see if he is still making his Hardy style D cases- I have several and they are works of art

A guy in Florida was selling the Tourbon cases a couple of years ago and they are very nice, though lined with synthetic fleece rather than sheepskin. I just received my Timber & Fins case and it is a very nice hand made case. It has two snap closures so it can be used alone or as a reel-on-rod case. Substantial and lined with the "reel" thing.

If you want to go all in....

http://www.arnemason.com/ (Arne Mason's site - really fine cases)

http://www.turtlemoon.com/acord/
I just went to Arne's site and found the following message. "My work making cases for fly people has been rewarding, but my hands are worn out so I’m closing the shop. I want to thank my customers over the years: you who made tools to fish with and you who fished. I’ve enjoyed working with you. Arne"
