Hoagy Bix

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

What incredible fly fishing history... how interesting.

Great story. I'm an admirer of both father and son. Hoagy Bix also played the drums, which isn't mentioned. The guy was born hip, owing to the old man's legacy. And then he preserved the art of the fly rod with his book. Put on "Stardust" and tie some flies, ya'll.

I love how the "B." is for Bix. My Dad turned me onto scratch old records when i was a kid. Love how two worlds came come together like that. This is stark-raving genius imho

Hi Guys, This is great! thanks for posting. I first heard this on 'A Jazz Piano Anthology' Columbia32355. It's a terrific piece on a terrific double album. It has everything from Eubie Blake to Bud Powell and more.

Bud Powell? Man, you're too cool. Rob is a jazz man. I'm a jazz drummer. My man Robert Bolt is into jazz as well. I remember that George Russell was a maniac fly angler. There is some kind of connection. https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?re ... 3963325250
