Wondering.............

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Dear Board,

If I smoke my 1917 Dunhill Shell with the group 1 size bowl with 65 + y/o Three Nuns whilst fishing with my 1917 Leonard Hawes 8' 3/2 Bamboo Fly Rod using a silk line from the 20's and my 1912/1905 prototype check Hardy Perfect original LHW, will I catch more fish? :titanic

Dry fly or wet? Upstream or down? You're leaving out some very important details.

No, but you might shoot your eye out. :)

Banjo,
I like your approach but you need to follow through, not stop half way. I suggest your tippet be a single hair taken from the tail of a white stallion and that your flies be tied on bent sewing needles. Good luck and best regards, Bill Lambot

Fish the Payne instead.
Otherwise, keep calm and carry on.

Just please don't fall and break something (including you) or lose the pipe... to your question, it will feel like it.

Ah the Payne, it now lives in NJ and has morphed into a 7'6" Garrison 204.

Well, you need to wear your Breeches and I remember the smell of the Three Nuns -- will at least make you fishing alone

Banjo,
I think that it really needs to be a single plain hair. Furling implies a first step towards embroidery which your traditional approach simply could not tolerate. It is best to always nip these dilutive distractions in the bud.
Perhaps an equestrian forum member could suggest the preferred breed for your situation. Because of their part in hunting, racing, polo and other outdoor sports, I think that a Thoroughbred might qualify. Best regards, Bill Lambot

Possibly you will catch more fish, but who knows? We can say with a fair amount of confidence that no one else has ever before assembled that particular fishing permutation.
