Here’s a Clark/Uslan 7 footer that I bought from Bob Selb a long time ago. The Uslan 7’ rod is considered his best taper by many. The rod appears to be unfished, has stamped Super Z ferrules and is impregnated. If anybody has some info about Jerry Clark, I would appreciate your input. I understand that he was a rodbuilder in his own right and good friend of Nate’s, imported Hardy reels and was in the tackle business.
The Bushkill Trout Reel was added just for the heck of it

For Kevin, my two 7'6 Hardy greenhearts. Both for DT5, med-fast, with silk working best with them.

June, 2021, my 7' Edwards Quadrate on a mountain stream in Idaho. It liked the old DT4 Masterline from England.

This was one of the better posts and lets keep it going. American and British reels along with a variety of nice rods that I fish quite often

Thanks. Since then I've picked up other short Edwards, what a revelation they are -- sweet sticks, in hex and quad. Am a little surprised they aren't talked about more. Whereas the 7' Paynes, Thomases, Grangers, Garrisons, Orvii and others get all the press. The Edwards in 7' are beautiful medium-fast sticks, highly accurate casters, pretty too. (This one was restored by Zietak, in what I assume are the Rosgen-ordered yellow silks.)

My century old 8' 3/2 Thomas Dirigo seems perfect for the Perfect, though a newer reel from the late twenties/early thirties.

Early Orvis Equinox SN 083, likely 1940 or 1941. Posed with a GEM Horseshoe Latch reel.
