#5What about Duke Ellington's "I'm Gonna Go Fishin." This song is very much about John Voelker aka Robert Traver. The Mel Torme version is hot.

#6Boy, that was a great little film and fun song. I loved the enthusiasm of those guys fishing. And the projected weights of the trout were cute! Do you know anything about that caddis imitation made of wood?? Thanks again. Jed

#7Nice film, thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately it is in Swedish only, but you can find the "tying" instructions here:

I think the original pattern was created by Ismo Hyvärinen from Northern Sweden.fefferje wrote: Do you know anything about that caddis imitation made of wood?? Thanks again. Jed

#10Mahler's 5th Symphony. I can't stand that hipster music playing in the background of the fly tying videos. And yes, I know. The hipsters can't stand Mahler either.

#11I like many styles of music, but I really hate the loops that accompany some videos. Now Mahler's Fifth Symphony has accompanied me in my car to so many fishing destinations I can't remember, and of course, it stays with me on the stream on many days. Two summers ago it was his Seventh, and I floated my favorite stretch under a full moon listening to Nachtmusik 1 in my head the entire time!

#12Mark, Mahler 7 is a difficult piece to listen to. The 8th is even harder.

#13Thanks, Chris. That video is lots of fun. Like Jed, I love the enthusiasm. And the song is hilarious.

#14His Dry Fly or Die is a fun song and video, set to a classic folk song some on this forum would probably hate.

#17My favourite although Fishin Blues by John Sebastian is a fine one also.
Van Morrison – And It Stoned Me Lyrics
Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain keep pourin' down
Me and Billy standin' there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishin' rod
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin' wet
With our backs against the fence
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Hope it don't rain all day
Chorus:
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned me
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like goin' home
And it stoned me
Then the rain let up and the sun came up
And we were gettin' dry
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned
And he dropped us up the road
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in
Not to mention fishing poles
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Let it run all over me
Chorus
On the way back home we sang a song
But our throats were getting dry
Then we saw the man from across the road
With the sunshine in his eyes
Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said Hey! There you are
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Get it myself from the mountain stream

#19I beg to differ with PYochim. Mahler’s 8th (Symphony of a Thousand) is a great piece, especially to be singing in the choir. As is his 2nd.
