Guess Who?
#1This is a cell phone pic of a photo of a bar fight that took place in the early 1950's. Thi picture hangs in King's Ropes saddle shop in Sheridan, Wyoming. Who can guess the identity of the dark haired gentleman on the left throwing a punch?

#4We have a winner. As the story goes, Slim bought a bull from the guy on the right. The bull died a day later so Slim wouldn't pay him and a fight ensued. Apparently Slim wasn't much of a fighter and went down with the first punch.magpie wrote:Slim Pickens?

Slim provided us with a lot of entertainment with movies like Blazing Saddles, The Getaway, Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, The Flim Flam Man, One Eyed Jacks and a host of other movies.
Re: Guess Who?
#7Dr. Strangelove was his big break. Peter Sellers was supposed to play the role of the B52 pilot but then got injured so Slim took over. The rest is history.

#10Slim Pickens, who uttered the immortal words, "Ride back into town and get a sh*tload of dimes".
Re: Guess Who?
#12Slim definitely had a silver tongue. In Irvin Kershner's The Flim Flam Man he has a cameo where he claims he doesn't trust city folk any further than he can spit into a hurricane.
