The above photo does not do justice to the fire in the opals, the hummingbird is absolutely alive with red and green fire a truly spectacular piece

The honey bear is from 26 million-year-old Meteoritic glass from the great sand sea desert on the border of Libya and Egypt same material that was used for multiple pieces of jewelry found in the tomb of king Tut-ankh-Amun, Like the great spirit bear of the northern lights (carved opal bear that now lives around the neck of Per Brandin's lovely wife Joan), this bear was basically formed when the meteorite blew up. the current theory is it was an airburst late at night when the desert was very cold which has led to the unique properties of that glass from the meteor strike/explosion

cheers from the cave
