Complete package : Any fly reel on planet earth : With Box

Having the paperwork is fun too.. or like this early year box stamped 1929
Pflueger Medalist 1494 came with a leatherette bag and old heavy waved paper.
I have a few decent boxed reels I am taking photos of...

If you have a second, PLEASE add yours... the more the merrier ~ some reels came with very cool paperwork ~

Again, here is my unused and leaded contracted 3 5/8" Hardy Perfect , one of three made by James Hardy (JLH) in 1950, in original box.

It has been stunning, is, and will be..... Stunning! I have a 1929 1394 with maroon box but a piker reel compared to odds' JLH hardy. I guess for a yank, maybe THE first 1592 Medalist, with box - not sure how that could be proven. I'd take any OLD 1592 as rare - the real reel rare, not the eBay rare.

This is like walking into Jay Leno's garage and looking at the cars :)
Like vintage cars, vintage rods and reels need to be "driven".

Thanks for sharing

Big fan of the Beaudex. This one came to me as flawless. I fish it regularly...

Magpie,

When you showed me your reel years ago it was the first I had seen of this model in person. You inspired the search. Many thanks.

My father passed these down. Purchased in the 1950''s, the reels are 'well loved' but otherwise 100%. The 1494 is dated 1949. The 1492 is dated 1954. Confused, yet? I've fished the 1494 a time or two but, honestly, I'm just not a Medalist guy. I'll never sell them, tho'...

Here you have the first model of the Hardy Lightweight, 1936 only ! 173 samples only were made of this the first model. Presented here with its original box. The Hardy reel-maker who made this reel was TAG = Thomas ArmstronG, he worked as reel maker at Hardys between 1928 and 1978. Enjoy ! // Steen. Ps : Hardy the Lightweight must not be mixed up with Hardy the LRH Lightweight, they are two different Hardy reel-models.
