What is the Reel Spindle-RECEIVED THE ANSWER

Please excuse my ignorance but I wanted to ask what exactly is the reel "Spindle"

I've got reels to clean and am reading the threads and guys are mentioning the "spindle" and I'm clueless.

The spindle is the post on the frame on which the spool spins

If you look up vintage reel diagrams or look at the pinned reel papers posts at the top of this forum you can snag the rest of the part names and lingo. Keep in mind that other countries sometimes use alternative terms.
