This has become my favorite thread to re visit over the years and thought I would finally contribute a few pictures of my own to keep the thread going. I've owned and passed along some very nice examples, but these are what I'm currently using........Two 3" reels that would both date to '20 - '22 I believe, one silent and one single check....A 30's era 3" with brown agate and a post war Jr.

Lovely collection but please wipe the dreaded hot sauce off before it stains the reel aluminium insides.

Thanks. And thanks for the tip ! Admittedly I tend to use too much grease/oil upon initial clean up / lubrication and wipe off the excess afterwards.which I had yet to do before snapping a few pictures. I had no idea this stuff was 'dreaded' and stains aluminum so will be more cautious in the future. Please by all means post a picture of the stained aluminum that you have noticed or send me a PM with those pictures !!!

Do both of those 20-22 STG’s have ERINOID handles?

Thank you. I feel very fortunate to be the new caretaker for a few years and luck to have stumbled across them !

Both reels have Ivorine handles as opposed to the Erinoid.

Greetings,

I've watched at this forum for many years and this thread is my favorite. This is the first time for me to post on this forum.

Recently, I purchased this Wartime black paint 3' with brown agate.

I like this finish and want to have the smallest range of this finish like St. George Jr someday, if it exists.

Yuki

Welcome Yuki. Great looking reel in great shape - root beer agate is fantastic. Is the maker Jimmy Smith?
