Postimage $'s

I see where this is going.... Postimage is getting ready to throw us for a loop (taking over where Photobucket left off). Looks like we'll need to pay to play. $12/mo. for premium without add's on your images...

Having had some of their "ads" pictures come on this forum on some posts in the past this is a real problem since almost all their ads verged on outright porn. Bad enough I just deleted and banned two posts for porn just now but their ads on this pictures were for women from other countries or links to porn sites. If that happens titelines may have to start looking for another system.

History repeats itself. The forum will be bit again, historic posts will once again be decimated with lost image information.
I hope everyone has their image information backed up.

one big reason that I no longer post alot of pictures, too bad the site can not have its own photo hosting to stop the losses incurred by the photo service providers dumping us ala photo bagit!!

The site could have it's own image storage. It would need to be turned on in the phpbb forum software:
(ACP->Groups forum permissions Advanced, Content Can post images = Yes),
and then deal with the added cost of the hosted image storage. I propose a small annual subscription fee $5 to pay for the storage, which might stop the garbage and porn that gets posted as well. If a new user paid the subscription and posted garbage, they lose their subscription and would have to pay another $5 to create another log on.

I vote for this.

I use Adblocker Plus on my browser and that stops ads piggybacking on the image URL and I don't use them for storage, so it should continue to function. Should.
I've tried to work with the FFR uploader and for me it's a pain in the butt because of the restricted image size. I lower the resolution of my camera/cellphone, further resize them by 50% through PicResize (another tedious process), and still end up with some files in a series too big for the uploader, so I gave up it.

Okay I'm in for even up to $25 annually to be able to drool over the lovely...and often times, very helpful images posted by others.

This makes sense in more ways than one, I'm up for it also.
