new guy from Oregon

Post by tyghguy »

Hello I have been following this site for some time and want to thank all of you for so much valuable information on fishing and restoring bamboo fly rods. I began fly fishing as a young boy in Montana. My first rod was simply a stick with a line and clear bobber and fly attached. Back in those days it worked very well as the creeks were full of trout, many which had never seen a bobber or fly before. My how things have changed. My home water now is the wonderful Deschutes River, which I fish quite often. Counting down the days for the big hatch. Again, thanks for all the info and good fishing to all of you Jerry

Welcome Jerry. It's good to have you on board. I'm always happy to have guys swing by the workshop and fondle some bamboo, so next time you're in the Bend area and have some time to kill, look me up.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. This is a wonderful forum. With all of what is happening in the world right now, I look to fly fishing more than ever. To listen to the sounds of the river. And see the colors in the water that have kept me going all these years. My only wish right now is a cure for this nasty virus that is gripping our planet. And good health to all of You. Jerry
