Hello yall,
My name is Colin Long. I have been on the forum for a few years but i never took the time to introduce myself.
I fell in love with rodbuilding and fly tying in Germany, 2012 with the guidance of a friend. I have also learned tons from this forum. I am a professional icehockey player, who has been playing in Europe since 2012. I live in California in the off season with my wife, who i met while playing in Germany. Many seasons i sign with a new team, offering me a chance to see and fish many areas. My only link i can share really is my instagram lol. @colinlong11
I also have a youtube, but not many videos. I recently uploaded a video of a fly i tied using a corona mask. Its on my instagram aswell.
heres my youtube if you so desire.

#2Welcome Colin! I’m a lifelong hockey player (never even remotely good enough to play at any high level) but I still love the sport. Where in California do you like to fish?

#3Hey,
I like to fish the sierra mountains. Owens River, Hot Creek, Its a bit of a drive , but worth it. In southern California i fly fish the surf for corbina (west coast bonefish), or i will fly fish the ocean in a boat. Calico bass is the most common thing to catch on a fly in the southern california ocean. If your lucky you can get a yellow tail.
all the best,
Colin
