#26Olivia,
Adding to the chorus of other posters here. Welcome and congratulations in getting sucked into the bamboo vortex.
I really appreciate your feminine touch to the craft of bamboo.
Relish your time with your hands and your heart in creating fine fishing rods. Having Dave Dozer as your mentor is beyond measure, and you will learn so many aspects of the craft from him and may learn/use techniques beyond his tutelage.
Loved your video, too. Nicely done!!!

#29Olivia, welcome to the forum. I liked your new website. Things were simply and attractively presented. I didn’t see a place for cost of your fly rods. Did I miss something?? I really enjoyed your short film Fly Fisherwoman. I loved how fishing could begin as the dreaming on your bed and could be the onset of fishing. Then there was the colorful and creative time for tying and then your photographic and fishing adventure itself. I felt you brought me on the walk you took to the river and you ended the film with a beautiful cast. We don’t know about any fish you caught or didn’t catch. For me, you were saying, “Pay attention to the river, pay attention to the cast. That is enough.” I also like in your still photography that you showed less than ideal rivers. I think we have too many hero shots with fish and sometimes over idealized rivers. We need to work on improving the rivers that are hurting. Thank you for allowing us to accompany you on your journey. Blessings to you. Jed

#30Olivia, we met Dave last winter when he was gracious enough to give my wife and me a two hour tour of his Sisters, OR workshop, explaining each step in his rod making process. He talked about having a talented young apprentice (you) and your rods are proving his word. What I'm really fascinated by however is your foray into acoustic guitar making, especially given your experience working in one of the best acoustic guitar making shops in the world just down the road in downtown Sisters. You certainly are a talented artist - keep it up.
