Hello from France
#1Hey guys,
I am originally from Iowa, but thanks to my job my family and I ( wife and 5 kids) have been living in the Brittany region of France. New to the world of bamboo fly rods and excited to try my first rod when the season opens here in March.

#3Hello Matt,
Welcome to the club. Will you be angling with a PM?
Cheers,

Re: Hello from France
#4Joe, I found a Hardy 9' 5 Hollokane near my house for 100 Euros. I looked at a PM, but we have so many available in the same 100-200 euro range, I was a bit lost on how to chose and a lot of times the add just gives you the length and a pic of the PM logo. I will have to learn a bit more about them.

#7Welcome!
If you are new to bamboo, you will soon see why the 8' and shorter bamboo rods are at a premium.

#8Well, you've come to the right place as there is quite a bit of info on PM to be found here by using the search function. Enjoy your Hardy!

#9Hi Matt
I have no idea about fishing opportunities in Brittany. We love the French culture and enjoyed biking in the Alps and Ver Cours. Favorite experience was in Annecy having locals asking at a a family style outside dining " I didn't think Americans liked stinky cheese as we ate local tarte de flècte (sp?) . Beautiful culture, great food, and an anchored culture " raison d' etre

#10Tartiflette, I assume. A potato and 'ripe cheese' stew (sort of) with bacon and stuff.
