#1I'm new here, and let me say a big thank you for the sharing of knowledge and information related to bamboo rod making.
I found this site while searching for tools necessary to begin my journey as a rod maker. That was in Nov 2020 after returning home from my first experience taking a rod making class with Bill Oyster. I'll post more about that experience on that thread. But I have already gained a bit by reviewing topics on this site and look forward to the adventure as it unfolds.

...as for us we pin our faith and fealty to the silk-wound PENTAGONAL rod cunningly yet simply devised of its FIVE subtle, individual triangular strips of cane throughout...

#8I too caught the bug from Bill and Riley, I was hooked, (no pun), after the first day, Wife knew it as soon as I walked in the door day 1. I've taken the class twice and am signed up for a third this June. Currently waiting on my Beveller and Forms to continue on my first "Homebrew", (again, no pun), Fly Rod.
Welcome, and keep me posted on your progress.
