I am from NY but not one of "them". I am retired from the trades and enjoy shooting trap and target both rifle and pistol and fishing. The folks here sure have some deep knowledge of wood rods and reels. Looking forward to learning.

You don't say where in NY you are but if you are not too far from SW Vt. you might be interested in a bamboo gathering we hope to have in Sept. Last years was canceled due to the plague but it is to be hoped that this year we can pull it off. If all goes well it will be announced on the "Announcements" sub board. Hope you can make it.

Welcome to the forum. NY has a lot of great fishing so you should find plenty to keep busy enjoying life!
