Thought I'd give you folks a little info and history. I have been a fly fisherman for exactly 66 years. I know that because at age 10 (now 76) my older brother headed out to get a wedding present for our sister. I think I put in a dollar and some change. You might have guessed, he returned home with something called a Horrocks and Ibbitson around 7 ft long. I couldn't have been happier because he was headed to college in a year. I had a great time with that little lovely rod and learned a ton for the next 7 years. I'll bet I could still carve a hopper out of balsa.
Anyhow I live Ohio, fish mainly in Pa, love Yellow Stone and New York. Favorite stream is Kettle creek in Pa.
Oh almost forgot I spent most of my carrier as a prison warden.no,no,no that's Jr High Principal.
Currently fishing a L and C regent until something better comes along. Maybe I should get an HI. My brother stole mine!!

Welcome to the forum, Terry!

I grew up and spent much of my life in Ohio -- caught my first brown trout in the Mad River. Moved out west a number of years ago, but still think of the time I spent fishing the Mad, Clear Fork and some of the Erie tributaries.

Enjoy that L&C, and good luck with your quest for another HI!

Best,
Andy

Welcome. I have some fond memories of Ohio steelhead in the Grand, the Connie and Chagrin. Sadly I have not been back in several years. Something I hope to rectify.

Enjoy your bamboo journey as it continues!

I gather you are a Falcon. Good luck on Oil Creek.

I fished it a couple times years ago. I mentioned that to someone who grew up in that area. He said it was a good stream but he didn't fish it. Too many snakes.

I once had a fat 4ft ratttler swim by me on Penn's Creek.

Great story Terry - welcome to the forum. I know a bit about those 7' HI rods as I've owned/restored and handful.
