Hello, I am new to this site. My focus for years has been on collecting lures and I feel comfortable with my knowledge in that arena. I recently found some early wood rods. I have been able to identify a couple of them. These are early Mitchell, and Aldred rods. If rods have missing line guides what is the opinion on replacing guides or re-wrapping?
I tend to prefer my lures with original patina and wear and avoid touch ups or repaints.
Should I consider replacing or re-wraping guides or leave alone?
Thanks in advance for any help on this. Tight lines, Steve

#3Repairs on early rods are sometimes justified. The place to ask, if you have clear photos of the rods, is the Rod Making, Restoration, etc subforum.
