#1422Too Kind Sir! Only had the phone for photos, but I took notice of the beauty that was around me and wanted to try and capture what I could with the little I had. Some of the water are well know places and other spots I discovered poking around and hiking in off some maps and tips.
I usually am the Gilly ( though not much of one), but always open to fishing friends whenever people are around, always reach out!

Re: What are you fishing this week?
#1427I fished an Orvis 7' 3 3/8oz Battenkill with a Young-made Orvis Battenkill Flyweight and an 8' Phillipson trade rod on the Logan. The weather was great and the fish cooperating with my largest being a 17" cutthroat on the Orvis.
For those familiar with Logan Canyon, the traffic was horrendous with 55 vehicles passing every 5 minutes (I counted twice). Partly due to people taking in the fall colors, the opener of the Elk season, and homecoming in Logan.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: What are you fishing this week?
#1429Thanks! The rod does well with either line, most would use a 3, I'm fishing a 4 here since I knew I'd be making short casts and fishing pocket water. If you look closely you can see that the Hardy foot just barely fits into the reel seat mortise - It's actually a touch big for the rod. I often use a Leonard 44 or Walker TR-1 which are both a bit smaller with dinky feet. The rod is a dream to fish, Fred T. was way ahead of his time!

#1430Had my first day astream today for the new Tasmanian season. My diaries told me it was too early and they were right. Still, I was able to test whether or not the ageing body is still capable of such punishment and I got to see two platypuses, including one very close in shallow water. Fished my Stone five weight based on a Payne 102. Sorry Dennis, the rod suffered the ignominy of its first skunking.

#1432Had as close to a perfect day on Sunday as one could ever wish for in October-- olives and midges were present all afternoon and I was fishing #24 & #26 patterns, my 8'0" Hoffhines got a nice workout.

#1433You guys our killing me with your Fall fishing posts.
I’m in the middle of packing for a move and have no time to get out.
Keep’m coming.
Cheers

#1434Now THAT is something I would love to see while fishing! As you guys say, "How good?!"PT48 wrote: ↑10/10/22 23:33Had my first day astream today for the new Tasmanian season. #1435I probably see around half a dozen a season. Always a thrill and always a time to stop fishing, stand still and observe. If I had to have a totemic animal, the platypus would be it.

#1437Went to one of my favorite areas with the 8ft 2-2 Winston (Twin Bridges) 6wt. Morning lows in the teens and low 20's. warmed up to the mid-50's and low-60's each day. Trout not too cooperative, but still some aspens and other trees showing nice color. Am glad to be back in CO.

#1439Spent last Sunday on a small creek in the north Cascades with a 7' 4wt Poppy Cane matched with an LRH and SA DT4 + furreled leader. The fishing for small cutthroats was spectacular. I'll get pics next time
