Kit is listed on Amazon but its 25 bucks plus 13 shipping. Would like to see a test drive before dropping that cash!

Everything I found online is on the continent so shipping is a deal killer, costing more than the product and takes forever.
Maybe some before and after photos would make me confortable with the $. sevilla315 ?

cemists on the forum; black powder is black in color - a mixture of kno3 and carbon bucky balls rubbed on the layer of sulphur might turn the top layer black? i do not have any brown rubber reels to try, only black ones thank goodness.

I gave up my photobucket account so don't have an account to upload photos.
If you have an account to send to, I can email you the pictures.

Steve

Very nice indeed! Thanks.
Is this 30mins of hand polishing...rubbing?
What was your "process" please.

It appears you can get it for less on eBay here.

The creme is very thick, almost gooey, with a strong smell of white spirits or other.
As per instructions on the tin, using a cloth, take a dollop of it and rub quite firmly on the ebonite. I think the tins says no to rub in circles around the centre but concentrate of small sections at a time. The sticky, oily consistency means it doesn't come off as easily as say a metal paste like Menzerna. The cloth gets blackened quite easily from reaction with the ebonite and after a short while you need to move to a clean section of cloth with more creme.

Aquired a tin and I'm initially impressed!
A portion of the left plate got a quick one rub, right plate is untouched.

I got a tin over the weekend and have tried it on two reels. In short, my search for a magic fix for brown plates continues. I found it to be less effective than Flitz.
