Just curious, no real reason.

Does anyone have a copy of Max Yerxa's signature?

Thank you

Just curious. Have seen a rod of his and a few pictures of his work. The info on Mr. Yerxa is not as plentiful as other makers.

Thank you

9' 9 wt. My goodness. Fighting butt. So you actually communicated with him? That is incredible.

What color of wraps are those if I may ask? Seems as if the Yerxa rods I have seen all had those wraps.

Just very neat that one can have some history about the maker and rod.

When a "no nothing" kid I once wrote a letter to whichever Young ran PHY in the late 70s [ sorry cannot recall who exactly ] and got a hand written response back from him! Had the letter and envelope for years. Long gone, no clue what happened.

Thank you much for the pictures. I know there is a book out there that has a small write up on Mr. Yerxa. Need to find a copy and the funds to pick it up.

I would be very interested!
I recently bought one of his rods, an 8 ft. probably very late production.

Not an owner of one of his rods, but this summer I cast a 9ft6” yerxa steelhead rod this summer that I swear I could have cast clear across town. The most effortless and amazing 8wt I have ever laid my hands on.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it. T.R.

Although no signature information here but since we're on the topic, and if anyone is interested, here's a copy of a Yerxa rod catalog. (It's a three fold pamphlet that I had to lay flat on the scanner bed so that's why it appears somewhat reversed.)

I acquired the above catalog and the price list below in 2003 from a Mr. Jere Moss [sic] whom I recall was making and marketing Yerxa rods at the time. I understand Mr. Yerxa passed about that time and don't know the business relationship between himself and the Yerxa family nor if he acquired the Yerxa equipment, cane, etc.
