The best French toast is made in bacon grease. Also the best fried eggs.
Though I don't do it anymore (darn doctors) we used to fry up the bacon, then put the eggs in and baste them with the hot bacon grease. Just spooned the grease over the eggs and never turned them. True sunny side up and maximum yolk juice.

I missed your reply to me but having done exactly this with my eggs today I returned to this post for other helpful, artery-clogging tips. :rollin

I usually cook in a carbon steel wok, even though I'm a big cast iron skillet fan which is the way to go for French toast. If you want to maximize the bacon grease as you fry an egg, a wok, with its round bottom (kind of tippy on a stove top but I'm used to it) is the ultimate way to fry an egg in bacon grease. Don't tell your doctor. Or my doctor. I take cholesterol meds so I figure I'm playing with house money. Or fire...time will tell.

I've never tried it but I'm sure it will work. I do use it for cornbread.

Freshly caught brook trout fried in bacon grease is the best. I do it only once, twice a year. No harm in that. Save dat grease!

My mother always saved the bacon grease. Never used cheese cloth, but strained it through the canister like the one pictured. Sorry the picture is so big. I just copied it from that auction site.

My Mom's was almost a dead-ringer for that one, except -- I believe -- it had a round knob on top.

Try a le creuset cast iron wok.

Flat bottom.

Today’s bacon tip:
Twist each strip of bacon to turn it into a narrower rope.
You can put twice as much in the frying pan.
Nueske’s this morning!
