I'm tired of sitting around the house. I'm going to forget about the virus and going fishing.

Fishing’s been banned here in the UK as a result of the virus .

That's incredible! What's the reasoning?

Great job Tom. Makes me nostalgic for my old creels. I sold them all since I never fish waters where I would use them anymore and don't have the room to hang all the old stuff on walls like I used to. Even though I don't smoke I think that guy does need a pipe to complete the picture.

Edit to add...That guy would not last long tomorrow. 75 and sunny. I'm going to go and try to catch a few bass or crappie for the pan since our local Walmart is out of meat. Our friend the local store butcher has been working short shifts almost daily since they run out of meat to cut before his shift is over. Time to put some fillets in the fridge and the pan. Still have flour and butter.

Tom, is that a current photo? It’s almost April, do you still have that much snow around Vermont? I expected it would be mostly all gone by now, but I have never been to that area of the world. Great snowman!

Being from 'the old country' myself and familiar with angling in the UK, I would say that it can be quite a social sport with many day ticket still waters for both trout and coarse fishing up and down the country. Salmon fishing in Scotland and Ireland attracts small groups of friends who often travel, fish and share hotels together.Fishing from and owning boats is not common, so many fish from the river lake or pond bank, again, sometimes with friends. Not sure if match fishing is still practiced, but that would also be crowds coming together and fishing and travelling, quite close together.
The UK is a relatively small country and the reason for banning angling is to prevent travel and gathering, I presume.

Malcolm

Loogie, the rod is a7' Battenkill

Baseman, I thought about a pipe but didn't have any; I like old creels and have a few for decoration.

Adrien, I was raking my lawn Monday and woke up Tuesday to 8" of wet snow; I didn't think the snow blower would be used agin this spring but was glad it wasn't put away. After moving the snow the kid in this 72 yo body could not resist playing in the snow. The temperature reached 50 today and just like Frosty the fisherman melted.
