I have purchased a 1890s 8 1/2' Burtis and would like to match it for display with a reasonably priced US made period reel. I was hoping to keep it under or around $300 if possible. What would you suggest?

Thanks in advance for your help.

How about a Climax light weight reel? Made by US Net & Twine circa 1892 for under $100 ( their better reels were Kosmics). Meisselbach Expert No 17 also late 1890's for under $100. A Julius Vom Hofe can be had for under $300 from around that time period.

Sounds good. Thanks to you both for the help. I'll do some searching. Would love to get a hold of a nice Julius Vom Hofe.
