#211948 HORROCKS-IBBOTSON Catalog.
Just found. This was H-I's first deluxe catalog after the war.
The 1948-1949 HORROCKS-IBBOTSON Catalogs.
Another list from Don C. Jann's sales book, indicating rods being produced for the 1948-1949 fiscal year. Though these lists are without illustrations, they offer complete specs for each rod's components, wraps, etc. that aren't found in the regular catalogs. H-I's first deluxe catalog after WWII would not appear until 1949.

#23Though not on H-I stationery, that's rare internal documentation of some kind. Good purchase and a valuable reference, Mark.

Those were received from Walt Carpenter, then passed on to me recently by Warren Horrocks.

#29For now, this concludes the Horrocks-Ibbotson thread. I have two more earlier years coming that I will post shortly. After that, I will post them as I acquire them. If any forum members are able to supply scans of the years that are missing, and there are many, PLEASE PM me. I'll also be happy to buy them, if that's what it takes. Thanks again to Warren Horrocks, who helped me immensely on this latest project.

#30Just a reminder that I still need scans or catalogs (will buy) of earlier Horrocks-Ibbotson catalogs, from anyone who has them. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

#34Were these photos ever made available? I ask because I'm looking for a catalog description of an Old Hi's Hitest Registered with a green reel seat as opposed to the maroon reel seat shown for the same registered rod in 1951.

#36Been trying to date my 8.5' H-I Lucky Ace. Have not found it in catalog postings. It is referenced by other posting but no years identified.Attached is the label on the rod. No other markings.Reel seat is dark green plastic, down locking. Using a deflection calculation it would be a 7 wt.
I can read the label as "BAR -MA" at top
Red color text "H-I" in a yellow diamond. The word "RO(D) in yellow banner to the right.
"Ibbotson" below "ROD"
and tiny text at bottom. "TICA NY". " Made in USA"
"Lucky Ace" hand written toward the handle

#37A few questions about the Princess.
1. When did it go out of production?
2. Was it ever sold with just one tip?
3. What line weight was it rated for?
