New to fly fishing, like 9 months new.
Have since gotten my three sons into it as well with my 8 year old preferring bamboo rods. He has a South Bend 353 9'.
I got into bamboo when I pulled out my grandfather's Horrocks & Ibertsons Flash 9' from the garage.
Was never a believer of no wild trout in Illinois and since have tracked one stream that has browns in it and will continue to explore as work and the COVID allows.
Typically fish my crappy creek with chubbs and suckers as the primary fish but fishing is fishing and I need the practice on moving water.
Thanks for the add!

#3Southwest corner of Cook County. Palos area. Most county fishing lakes are shutdown at the moment, not many options.

#6Welcome, wisefoolmike! I think it's fabulous that you are introducing your sons to fly fishing and bamboo rods. And, I also believe that you'll enjoy the Forum and find it helpful.
