Rod Builder ID?

#1

Post by TFHough »

I am beginning a new project and would be interested in info about this rod. The rod has two names on it and research concerning the names and bamboo found nothing. As per the photos, there are two names inked on the rod, "Ashley" and "Bill Newcousky". I am curious to know if Bill was perhaps the maker, naming the rod (or line of rods) after Ashley, or perhaps Bill commissioned an Ashley rod from another pro builder. I'm sure the brain-trust here can shed some light on this mystery.
Thanks!

use the google search box at the bottom of the page. Type in ashley. Read multiple posts.
That should get you started.

My rod is dead-on; nicely spiral-wrapped, long cork, matched inking and well worn as almost all comments mention. A flea-market purchase in the Poconos, just south of Binghamton. All the pieces are in place. This rod has its history back. Thanks so much!
