Show us your sibling reels

I'm sure that many of you have reels of different sizes or different vintages from the same makers and thought that it would be fun to share some of mine before I break up some of these sets.

First up is a pair of LHW St. Georges with NS line guards

and prewar Youngs Pridex (and Gilmour) in 3" & 3 1/2"

and my growing collection of 2 screw lineguard reels from the Hardy Lightweight series

and the two smallest Meeks from the forties

and a Trifecta of Uniqua reels from different generations

and a family of Young made Orvis Battenkill reels

I find it interesting that only the smaller of Jim's wedding cake reels has a counterbalance.

Here are my two. The 76 has been my user for over 40 years, the larger one I got a few months ago.

My "Jack" Collection. Trivia question: Do you know how Jack Charlton was able to get that nice parchment colored script on his logo and letters?
Answer: He discovered that if he wiped the reels down with WD40, the white anodization turned to a tasty tan color. This I learned while sipping bourbon with Jack one night.

Greg,

Nice collection of Hardys all set for winding with the proper hand...but if those are siblings and not kissing cousins, there could be some inbreds in your collection :lol :eek :rollin

I took those photos 7-8 years ago. Since then, I've added a few more Hardys and taken a few out of service. Having more reels than rods, I intend to pass the surplus on to my grandchildren when they're old-enough.

Siblings and cousins!

Early Ross, Perfects, Uniquas and St G's, and Lightweights....from an earlier time...many are gone now.

Mcflyfish, I spy another LHW St. George. 3 3/8" or 3 3/4"?

Some nice "families" coming out in this thread. I know that someone out there has the full set of CFO reels; please share them.

About the Wedding Cakes, the early ones did not have the counterbalance. When they were added I have no idea. There were a few changes over the years. The #1, the small one , is later production.
