Vern, there are a few hotels in Viroqua, WI, about 15 minutes away. Plus the Driftless Angler fly shop, also in Viroqua, has rooms for rent. Plus many B&B’s. There are a lot of options.

So, let me get this straight, Heddon spent two weeks in Wisconsin and four decades in Michigan.
But you're having a tribute gathering in Wisconsin?

Has the state of Michigan been kicked out of the Fly Fishers Union?

I live in Minnesota, and my partner setting this up lives about 20 minutes from the campground we’re using. I have no connection to Michigan.

Hi Everyone,

Tom from 406 Fly Lines here. I plan on attending and bringing a full compliment of demo lines and lines for sale plus some Bozeman Reels SC Series and our Harvey Style leaders. Also some hats, Satoshi Yamamoto's Spring Creek books, and assorted swaggy stuff. I'm not getting a table because I'll be solo and don't want to be tied down but will be circulating and around for the weekend.

I will be making plans myself to attend. Would like to meet up with some of you guys.

We’re just a few weeks away from Heddonfest, May 20-22 at the West Fork Sports Club campground in Avalanche, WI. If you’re planning to attend please register on our Eventbrite page. There is no cost for Heddonfest, but there are modest costs for camping at the campground. Please use the link below to register so we can get an idea of how many will be attending. Thank you!

This is a Heddon-built Pequea Tribe “Hummer,” 7’0” with a 1/2 ferrule, for 4 weight line. The rod was initially built for the Johnson Sporting Goods company of Baltimore, MD. It was just restored by Steve Sobieniak of Root River Rods. Steve built 2 new tips for the rod, as the old tips were both short. It will be an excellent fishing rod, perfect for the Driftless streams. We will be raffling this rod off at Heddonfest May 20-22. Funds will go to the West Fork Sports Club to help rebuild after being flooded out a year ago.

Is this event something that a fellow can just show up to? Would like to drive over Saturday morning and spend the day. Is there a fee or donation needed?

Please feel free to come! There is no fee or donations required. We’re raffling off some great items to support the West Fork Sports Club, so you may want to bring some cash!

Heddonfest photo gallery from photographer Trenity White. It was a well-organized gathering attended by many Heddon enthusiasts as well as rod makers such as Don Schroeder, Scott Grady, Paul Julius, Bill Taylor, Rob Hoffhines...and we caught a break from the weather (albeit cool and breezy). Thank you to Warren Frank (Blackdog), Bob Wagner, and Paul Julius for all the time and energy you guys put into organizing this event.

There were a lot of fine rods, and better people. It was great to meet so many Heddon collectors.

Wonderful photos! What treasures! Sorry I missed this year (although looking at the pictures, my girlfriend just said I probably saved a lot of money).

Lots of happy memories in that place of the old store, of talking with Roger Widner, and of time on that stream.
