The Rocky Mountain Orvis is not that difficult to acquire as they show up fairly often. A check of auction sites or a wtb here may prove fruitful. JoeBolt, to answer the first paragraph ending question, my totally uneducated answer would be no.

I have the 7' Traveler and 8' Traveler, both 4/2; I missed out (or passed on) an 8 1/2 Traveler that was in the same Lang's auction some years ago from which I got both. Not the lightest rods in hand, but awfully convenient for travel, and both very capable. I also enjoy using a Rocky Mountain and the 7/4 is one of my favorites.
