Hello every one. I'm new to this forum but I'm familiar with this style of intercourse with other like minded people.
I have, what I believe is a Horrocks-Ibbotson rod that I inherited from my grandfather. It has a decal with the H-I in a diamond and Made in the USA Utica NY and I think a trout at the top. It's, I'm thinking steel with wooden handles. From another post for the history of H-I rods I'm thinking that this is a pre 1929 rod.
I'm just trying to figure out the history of this rod and trying to determine it use. I have a Pflueger Akron reel also from the same source but I'm not sure if this is the correct reel to use with this rod. Its in really great shape and I don't think I'll use it to actually fish just trying to find more about it.

#2The Defiance series of steel rods were produced by H-I throughout the 20's, 30's and 40's. Yours likely has a cork grip.
