Dickerson 8’ 8 weight taper?

The exchange of tapers forum is for classic and personally developed tapers. The definition of classic tapers are those tapers that were developed by rodmakers that are no longer alive. Please understand that rod makers who have developed their tapers, and are active in the community, should not have their tapers cloned, or shared, without their permission, please refrain for asking for those tapers as it infringes on the maker.

I have the Pickard 8'6" 7 wt rod that would need to be miked if you think you can play with the numbers, taking 3 inches of the joints just might get you in the ballpark with the base taper regression.....Todd

Myself and others have made the Dickerson 8015 Guide Special using the numbers from The Lovely Reed. The rod is cataloged as a 7 weight, however, many believe it is better suited for an 8 weight line.

It is interesting with the Dickerson 8'0" rods; The 8013 is a 5 WT, The 8014 is noted as a 6WT, the 8014 Guide 6-7WT, the 8015 a 6+WT, 8015 Guide a 7+WT, where as the 8015 Guide Special is around the 7-8WT range. I would think the 8015 Guide Special would be of interest to you. The previous mentioned 8'6" Pickard was a taper Pickard took directly off my Paul Young Texan.
