Of Time and Place by Sigurd Olson

I've been re-reading Of Time and Place by Sigurd Olson, after first reading it ~ 30 years ago.

Nice read, from quite an outdoorsman, guide and lover of wild places, history and such.

This book really puts me in a reflective, reminiscent kind of mood.

Anyone else here ever read this book by Sigurd Olson?

Yes. He wrote several books and my father cherished them. He owned and paddled a cedar strip Peterborough canoe for years. I own it (and the books) today and it is still a fantastic canoe.

I love his prose. He's a first-rate writer. Not my usual cup-of-tea, but when I pick up one of his books, I get enchanted.

"Open Horizons" is my favorite of his books.

Thanks for the tip. Open Horizons is one I have not read, but will have to check it out.
