Winter report

A blog post I did for the LAT, on winter fishing in California’s Sierra (cane rod pictured, 7’ T&T Trico). Just noticed they blew the trout photo credit, all shots are mine, mine I say. The outrage. It happens.

Re: Winter report
#7Three materials, shuck, body, hair. For the small stream I use the old light Mustad 94833. Bigger hair n stronger hook for larger water. Easy to vary body colors, but I usually use brown.driftless angler wrote: ↑12/31/21 09:59Great report! Love the rod and I'm going to have to try that fly.

#10Nice TR read. Motivating, if not cold.
Little black stone flies emerge in February in these parts. I'm looking forward to snow covered streams too!
