do you remember? ah, i remember it well . . . . . . . long long ago in a land far far away . . . . . .!

when the board awarded to useful topics hot topic status complete with flashing billboards. and b h b would then comment on the "hotiosity" of the thread. oh, for the good old days, when men were iron and rods were hindoo-vine and bamboo (wooden).

regards, happy holidays, jim w

Got to disagree. They were good and BHB was the best.

Whenever someone resurrects an old thread with a new post, it's amazing how many fellows have fallen away.

I use the search function often and when I run across someone who hasn't posted in quite some time, I wonder if they are fishing the River Styx, moved on to other passions, or were banned for some reason or simply got fed up for one reason or another and left. I would like to see the mods add "deseased" or some other identifier to the avatars of those fishing the River Styx, so that newbies like me are aware.

A bit before my time of the BHB experience. I was an Annals member and had, unfortunately, minimal time to share.

a pity that, the days of banjo, cloozoe, andre, uni, c and a, j d, and the list grows . . . . .! but, who wants the good old days, just a bunch of old guys sitting around a cracker barrel. in those days i read the mail because i had nothing of value to contribute (still don't - am now dependent upon my hunting grandson for measuring f e thomas rods. hope to resume soon).

Ah, the professor. How I miss him. He wrote this jewel in an exchange I had with him several years ago, "when we compress the planet, we
get tangy punch from its language juices." When he decided to downsize his contributions to Annals, that was the end of that forum, I felt.

hi; i see you commenting sometimes. i guess the common run of "my best 4 weight is better than your worst five weight rod" does not offer much in the way of enlightenment or entertainment.
