Didn't think I'd live to see the day, but collector Jerry Girard has signed up as new forum member JerryG. He sneaked in under Fatman's introductory post.

Hi Jerry! We haven't talked for some time. I remember several long chats with you back at the Sommerset Shows. Welcome to the Forum.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for welcoming me. Over the years, I've made many friends through this board, Jeff, Mark & Tom (hatch), Charlie, The Gnome & many, many others. The list would take up a lot of space! Through JeffKn, I have posted. I look forward from hearing from board members.

The new member is an old hand indeed. Just like Charlie, Jeff, and our much-missed friend AJ, you've generously shared so much with me, Jerry, even though I only dabble in rods that are barely seventy years old. When I first arrived at Tim Pond in 2016, it wasn't long before you handed me a 130-year-old rod built by C.E. Wheeler, equipped with a venerable white-handled Hardy St. George, and said, "Go fish it! Enjoy!" As trout rose and Hexagenia flies fluttered past the boat that evening, I kept a tight grip on the Wheeler as my main self-assigned task was to ensure that I didn't drop it overboard. Welcome and best wishes. ... Bob

Welcome out of the shadows and into the light, Jerry. I guess there will be even more arcane 19th century rod discussions now.
Miss those Saturday night NJ Show dinners.
