New Member from NJ
#1New member here.
Currently a working professional here in NJ. Married with 12yo daughter. I fish when time permits. Most of my fish time is spent chasing freshwater species with fiberglass fly rods. I have been thinking about getting a bamboo rod to continue my pursuits. Looking forward to learning from the members here and sharing my experiences. I am a member in good standing of another popular forum and will say I read more than I post but I am trying to make a conscious effort to balance the two tasks out.
I would be interested in meeting up with other area members to regularly fish the waters of NJ, NY and PA. I have great interests in focusing my efforts on chasing wild trout in small streams.
Thank you,
Ryan D

#8Welcome Ryan - pull up a chair and join the fun!
Wild trout are rare... none here in Missouri - however in the 1880's we had a train break down and leave some - and they are still here!

You either like cane fly rods - or you don't.

#14I was born in Bayonne, and fish the Catskills a couple times a year. Will be up there 3rd week of may bopping around the Beaverkill and Willowemoc. I love fishing March Browns this time of year.

#15Welcome aboard, I’m also a recent new member born and raised in Passaic County currently living in Portland Oregon and just purchased my first bamboo rod - a Phillipson Ed Hunter Approved. I learned to fly fish on the many ponds and streams in north Jersey. My first fly rod caught trout was on the Ausable River in the Adirondacks.

#16Born in the Garden State myself, spent last 52 years living in Catskills... a few years ago I went back to NJ to fish their "wild trout" waters--- I never knew existed--- during months of December through March... many a fine outing; loved it!
Welcome,
Ed
