A couple recent framings
#1The late Bryant Freeman was a larger than life Miramichier. We put this framing together (he was a huge proponent of the fly in the frame. It is being donated to the Atlantic Salmon Museum for a fundraiser.
A frequent customer of mine (who must have miles of wall space!) had me frame up the flies of a fly designer from the PNW, with an image that the fly guy's wife painted. He has a soft hackle October Caddis in there that I will definately copy, and I became a fan of the TMC 200R hooks he uses, too.
I leaned on a bunch of friends who are among the best fly tyers in the Maritimes and New England to give me a couple flies each that would first become photographed for a calendar and then I would frame them up and donate them to the Miramichi Salmon Assoc. and the Salmon Museum. Happy to say that this first one (they gave me enough flies for three of these framinings, all with different flies) sold for $700 in a recent MSA online auction.

#3Fabulous, Gary! And, I echo Adrien's comment, the Association ought to name a salmon beat for you for your generosity!

#7Thanks, all. I'm happy that I can do stuff like this, because it's really the only way I can help anymore.

Always spectacular work. Your donation work and framing are so inspiring.

#10There is no comparison for your work, Gary.
Exceptional and unmistakable.

#12What beautiful work! Of many thoughts these prompt, I was reminded of my old friend, Arthur Taylor; I like to think of him somewhere out there on a stream still.
Re: A couple recent framings
#13Thank you all again for your very kind words, and CCC, I do know that Arthur Taylor spent many a day fishing the Miramichi. He is well remembered there.
