For those of you who like sporting essays and good outdoor writing, I would like to suggest that you take a look at Northwest of Someplace and/or Another Day Afield by the writers of the Lost Branch Sportsman's Club.
I know a couple of these guys personally, but I feel confident in putting my bias aside and recommending their books to anyone who likes to read good outdoor writing. I have found that many of these stories go best with your feet up while your hands are busy with a cigar/pipe and a glass of bourbon.

#2Would love to but I don't do facebook.
I spent most of my money on shotguns, fly rods, guitars and banjos. The rest I just wasted. (Apologies to W.C. Fields)

#4Thanks!
Later: thanks for the tip on these; Sporting Classics magazine just offered a set of two books and I picked them up; looking forward to it!
