Jenkins GA80-76

I once owned a Jenkins 8-footer, designated GA-80-75. That meant it was the 75th 8-footer they made. That was back in '94. On the Spinoza rod site, I saw a photo of the rod built right after it, GA-80-76. I loved the look of those rods in that period. It had nearly clear wraps, a coppertone hued "bluing, and the best medium action I've ever experienced. Does anyone here on the forum own GA-80=76? I'd like to hear about your experiences with it. I'm keeping an eye out for GA-80s of that era.

I also once owned a Jenkins GA-80 but I don't remember the year. I had to sell it for some necessary home repairs. I only enjoyed fishing mine a few times, but I remember that the varnish always seemed the slightest bit tacky. I have never heard of this problem from other Jenkins enthusiasts, so I wonder if a previous owner had left the rod in its tube on a hot summer day in the car. I too will keep my eye open for a nice replacement someday.

Hi Guys, I might own that rod. It was a gift from my brother. I'm not at home at the moment, but I should be tomorrow. I'll look at it. It has what looks like an REC reel seat. Steve had some comments about it on his website, I think.

Edit: Yes, I have the GA80-75 rod. Ithink Steve's site said he had done a 'restoration/refinish. My best rod.
