Re: Colordo Snow Pack
#2Jay,
Please help me check my understanding of interpreting this map. The entire southern half of CO had less than 50% of its normal snowpack and southcentral CO had only 6% of its normal snowfall; is that correct?
It must have been an extremely dry March and April!
Thanks- Ken

#3Hi Guys, Being a fly fisherman and not a hydrologist, or whom ever, I think that's right. Look out Taos and Albuquerque!

#6It's not what they got; it's the "Current Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) % of Normal." At one point, the South Platte drainage was over 120% of normal. Not any more.

#7Yes. The snowpack, especially in the southern half of the state, has declined precipitously in the last few weeks because of abnormally warm weather (probably the “new normal”), causing premature snow melt, and a dry spell in the last few weeks.St Vrain Angler wrote: ↑05/15/22 15:45It's not what they got; it's the "Current Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) % of Normal."
