#2Yes, 2 in fact. I purchased a great leaded 3 3/8" St. George that Hoagy offered here two weeks ago and I bought a 1492 from Steve Campbell at Thomas Rods last week. That's two in two weeks. Yikes! I'd hoped to meet Steve in person because I was in Bangor at the time, but he's a busy guy and he's shipping it to me.
*EDIT* make that 3. I bought a CFO 3 in January.

#5Two, actually: an Abel Pt. 5 and a Hardy Marquis LWT 5. Didn't need either, but wanted--and love--them both.

#7Yea.
A Peerless 2A and a second twin screw LRH. I got the second LRH because the reel fits several rods I own but the rods like different lines.

#8Hi Guys, Two; an Ocean City 90 that needed knobs, and a beautiful 1890's-1900 Hardy Silex with lots of finish.

#11Yes, some odd ones: two Daiwas that mimic the Lightweight, a Heddon that mimics the LRH, F2 Rio Orbigo (the replace the one I had to sell when I had to sell), and an 1800s possibly Scottish brass reel.

#12I have been fortunate and am happy to have hunted down some nice reels in the last couple of months. I am unhappy that I have been able to hunt down some nice reels in the last couple of months…
Re: Have you bought a fly reel in the last 6 months ?
#14Yes, had to have a 4/5/6 Cascapedia made in England with the perforated spool to go with my 2/3/4 Cascapedia. Otherwise I sold several reels and am going to be putting several more on Classified. I was done buying reels until the Cascapedia showed up. Too much money but very good shape and one I'd been looking for a couple of years and the few that popped up I was always too late. Now I have my last two bamboo fly rods properly set up with Cascapedias. Well, last two I use. A few others more for decoration than use.
So, lots of response. What brings about the question?

#17Fly reels are such a joy... it's always fun to see what others are or are not picking up.
I wonder how many reels purchased by our readers are brand new - and how many are vintage / used.
Just yesterday my hand was forced by a local resident holding an Olympic 4300.
Copy of Hardy Flyweight / Featherweight.
A great 3-4wt reel.
Ugly and beat.
First one in a long time.

#20I just bought 7 Hardy reels! I am keeping some and I think I will sell a few of them but not sure which ones yet. All the reels came in original box's, cases with the Hardy pamphlet. Just can't beat the sound of a Hardy, music to my ears!
-3 3/8 St. George with 2 spare spools, (keeping and fishing this reel.)
-3 3/8 Perfect with 2 spare spools, (I would love to keep this reel as it is in very good condition, but I am a die hard LHW and the perfect is right hand wind only so I may sell this reel at some point.)
-LRH lightweight with spare spool. Lightly used reel (I will fish either the LRH or the featherweight, Just have not decided which one yet)
-Featherweight with spare spool. Lightly used reel
-Flyweight is new old stock, never been fished or had a line on it (pretty sure I will sell this reel)
-Bougle Mk VI 3 1/4" lightweight is new old stock, never been fished or had a line on it
--Bougle Mk VI 3 1/2" lightweight is new old stock, never been fished or had a line on it. I am keeping and fishing this reel.
I know these Korea made Bougle's are not as desirable to collectors, but they fish dang well and that is what I got if for.
