Jim, I think they would have been special order rare in those years . Sure one of the hardy fellows will chime in but i,d say not many were made, then how many are still around and think darned rare. some where I remember seeing the production numbers and there werent that many salmon reels made per year, figure the damaged over years and precentage special order and its a pretty small percentage is my guess. Got me thinking so got out John Drewett book and checked production numbers, starts 1925 and 3 3/4 for that year no line guide 69, with guide 45,1926-no guide 62 with guide 50,1927 no guide138 with guide100,1928 no guide 72 with guide 35. No mention of left or right hand but how often does one show up in comparison to right hand wind and don,t have numbers for those years but can,t see there being a lot more sold or made earlier. thanks for the numbers, this may be a balls-up reel, i will find out if owner brings it to me for a look. even so, not many in any configurations. oh, and itis a wide, 2 inches x 3 3/4 inches, big reel.

highest regards, jim
