4th of July

A place to discuss the collecting and tying of classic flies, the tyers who made them famous, the tools, materials and techniques they used as well as the waters they were designed for. While classic is generally used to describe old things, classic is also used in the sense of first class or in the highest form. Therefore a fully dressed Salmon Fly, or a Carrie Stevens Streamer are just as much classics as a Chernobyl Ant would be. Enjoy the forum.

The only thing I'm mad about Norm is that you don't have one of those coming for our 4th of July swap. Always happy to see you when you join in. I'm doing a simple soft hackle red butt with blue UV dyed herl. Not as nice as yours but fits the theme.

Folks...a minor diversion...but there was a fellow up in Roscoe, NY who had a small fly shop years ago named Ralph Graves who tied a fly with an American Flag theme...a quick internet search yielded the following picture...enjoy.
