These two should pair up nice

The Zen 3 wt. just arrived in the mail. Hopefully I can find some time to hit the Farmington and try it out with a pre 1908 8’ Leonard model 39. This is the last rod I won from Langs. Fished slow and smooth with a 4 wt. silk line but I am very interested to see how it feels with a 3 wt.

That will be a lovely outfit on the Farmington. As I await my Zen’s, I look forward to hearing how you enjoy yours with the Leonard .

You are real old school there with the exception of the modern old style line. Looks like a great outfit and hope you enjoy it as much a I enjoy seeing the pics.

Fishes real nice. I thought the line when I lined the reel felt a little stiff. It cast like a dream however. I am very pleased with the combo.

The Styx river that runs through my neck of the woods certainly does. There are browns that rise to a beetle fly or take a PT below it. Mainly a summer evening river so timing is critical for those crossing. Remember to take a coin or Charon might confiscate your rod in compensation.
