New member in Vermont!

Post by chinookered »

Hello all,

New member (duh) from Vermont. I have been fishing cane 2 handers for steelhead on the west coast and Alaska for several years, but have recently moved to VT and the long rods are put away :(. I just purchased my first classic cane trout rod for around here, a Granger Special 8642. Can't wait to get it in and feel the magic!

Cheers,
Jake

Jake - glad to have you!

Tell us more about these cane two handers....

I started off with a 12' Sharpes, and now have a David L. Reid 11'6" for a 5/6. It casts beautifully with a mid/long dry line with a Greaseliner on the tippet.

Welcome. You should be able to get some use out of those two handers fishing Great Lakes steelhead in Lake Ontario tribs.
